Rebekah’s First Pictures
Today is finally winding down, and I am back home with the two older kids in bed. Now that I have a little quiet, I can update you on what is going on. Rebekah and Mommy are both doing well. The kids got to meet their new little sister this evening. And Oma and Opa had a chance to hold and love on their 5th grandchild.
The cardiologist did the echocardiogram on Rebekah and said that there wasn’t anything abnormal. The hole between the two halves of her heart hadn’t yet closed, but that wasn’t unusual in a baby less than 2 hours old. If the murmur is still present after a month or two, then we can get worried. By the time the cardioligist showed up, her heartbeat had pretty well stabilized, anyways.
I picked up the kids this evening and took them by to see Mommy and their new little sister. They behaved very well. I had picked up a new Dora DVD for them to watch, so they were pretty well engrossed for most of the 2 hours we were at the hospital.
Mommy and Rebekah will be spending a couple nights in the hospital. We’re expecting to be discharged Thursday, possibly Friday. Karin is doing well. She was basically bedridden for the day while the spinal blocker wore off and she started to heal. They’ll have her up walking tomorrow.
As for the part that everyone is looking for, pictures are now up! Enjoy!
