Visiting the GrandKids: Going Home

The final day of GrandMom and GrandDad’s visit was spent packing up and getting ready for them to leave. They had an evening flight home, so there was plenty of time to get the packing done, play with the kids, and wait for me to get the DVD with all the pictures from their visit burned. But not juts a straight data DVD. I was going to do one better.

To increase the usefulness of the DVD, I created a hybrid DVD that contained both the original pictures that I took while they were here, and a DVD video portion that had several slideshows with selected pictures from each of the places they had visited. You’ve gotta love Apple’s iDVD.

The first section highlighted their visit to Pike’s Place Market. The second highlighted the trip up Mount Rainier and the resultant snow ball fight. The third had pictures from dinner at the Space Needle. And the final slideshow contained pictures from our trip to Point Defiance Zoo. There wasn’t a slideshow from the fireworks as I neglected to bring my camera. But in all, the DVD ended up containing over 400 pictures for them to show off to family and friends.

Everyone had a great week while they were here. We’re all looking forward to them coming back after the baby is born. We all love you, GrandMom and GrandDad! See you next time.
