Post Op Day 2

Day 2 opened with Oma and Doug heading up to the hospital to be with Opa. This morning the doctors took him off the ventilator. When Oma and Doug arrived he was up in the chair eating breakfast. He’s doing well, but very tired. He’s spending a lot of time sleeping, recovering his strength.

The nurses are planning to get him up again this evening and get him walking. The walking is good progress. Oma called work and told them that she was going to say with Opa until he got home. No word on when they would let hm go home. I expect that we wouldn’t hear anything on that until Sunday at the earliest.

Please tell your mom and dad that I am praying for them. I’m glad to hear your dad is off the ventilator and beginning to move around.
I worked with your mom at Martinez Elementary and attended Warren with your parents. I hope all contiues to go well and will continue to remember you all in my prayers.
