Happy Earth Day!
In case you missed it, today was Earth Day! While many people spent the day planting trees or cleaning up their neighborhood, we took the kids to the zoo.
The Zoo was, as you’d expect, celebrating earth day, so the kids got a chance to see some ways to save the environment. Their favorite part was playing in the water at the solar energy exhibit. Except that they didn’t have a bit of recognition regarding the solar panels. For them, it was all about the water and seeing how wet you could get your sleeves.
We finally dragged them away from the water and took some time to wander through the park and see the animals. Bethany wanted to see the reindeer and the penguins. We did manage to see some of the other animals during that time. But, once we’d seen those two, she and Christopher both decided it was time to play in the water some more.
They both slept most of the way home. All the playing and walking was quite tiring for two little kids. Pictures of the day will be up in the gallery shortly.
So, what did you do for Earth Day?
