Developing Sense of Humor

April 11th, 2007 | jchaager | kids

Bethany has reached that young age where her sense of humor has started to really kick in. She loves to laugh at things and tell you, “that’s so silly”.

Her latest fascination, though, is with knock-knock jokes. Not that she has any punch lines for them. She just likes the knock-knock portion. Probably comes from the fact that the first joke Karin told her was the banana/orange one. That’s the one that both she, and to a lesser extent her brother, repeat all the time.

“Knock, knock” “Who’s there?” “banana” “banana who?” “Knock, knock” “Who’s there?” “banana” “banana who?” “Knock, knock”

And so forth. She can keep the joke running for minutes at a time. Some times it’s hard to humor her on her quest for more jokes. Maybe I just need to teach her some new ones.

Do you have a good knock-knock joke for me to share with her? Leave a comment and I’ll let you know what she thinks of them.
