Surviving the Time Change

March 17th, 2007 | jchaager | family

It’s been almost a week now, and we are still trying to get adjusted to the time change. The kids have been getting up at 8AM or so instead of their usual 7AM wake up calls, which is nice. But they’ve also not been going to be until after 9PM which is really infringing on our couple time. We’re going to have to slowly work them backwards to their 8PM bed times again.

I’ve had a rough week trying to adjust. Monday and Tuesday, of course, I woke up about an hour later than normal. Wednesday I was up at 5AM to take my parents to the airport and I ended up staying up until 11PM. You’d think that would give the biological clock a swift kick. Unfortunately it didn’t. Thursday and Friday were both 8AM mornings. I’ve got to figure out how to get myself switched. It’s nice having some time in the morning before the kids come stomping down the stairs.

Karin dosen’t seem to have been affected too much by the time change, but she’s always has trouble sleeping at night. Especially when one or the other of the kids wake up in the middle of the night wanting more rocking. Maybe shell eventually get back onto a regualr sleep schedule once the kids go off to college. Maybe.
