Doing the Puyallup
It’s Fair time here in the northwest. And none is bigger than the Puyallup Fair. So, Sunday night, we loaded everyone into the van and headed down into the valley for an evening of fun.
Parking for the fair costs $8, but for only $5 we were able to park in someone’s front yard. American entrepreneurial spirit at its best. A short walk with the kids in the stroller, and we were in the front gate.
Bethany didn’t care so much about the rides. She just wanted to see the animals. Every time we mentioned going to the fair, she would ask “Cow?” So, we wandered through the barn with the cows. Even got to see one of the cows getting milked.
Then it was on to see the sheep and the pigs. One of the sheep was a little boisterous and was baaing rather loudly. Too loudly for Bethany’s taste. Took us 5 minutes to get her (and Christopher) settled down.
Then came the expensive stop at the fair: The Kitchen Craft tent. Sat through the 30 minute demonstration of their cookware before Karin was able to order herself a set. $2500 later we left and headed on to see the horses.
Since it was now dark, we decided to move things along and hit the rides. Picked up a few ride tickets and let the kids enjoy the other half of the fair. The merry-go-round, the car ride, and the canoe ride. Bethany loved them all.
Finally, we headed back toward the entrance to grab a some strawberry shortcake before heading home. Bethany ate most of the strawberries, Christopher ate the whip cream, and Karin and I got the Strawberry flavored cake.
All in all, a fun evening was had be all. And Bethany was a very good girl despite being up way past her bedtime. Enjoy the pics!!

I believe that it was more like 1 1/2 hours at the KitchenCraft tent. The food tasted great that he cooked for the demostration.
