Happy New Year 2005

January 4th, 2005 | jchaager | family

Just wanted to wish everyone who reads my little corner of the web a Happy New Year! It’s been a bit hectic lately, and I haven’t had a whole lot of time or energy to spend posting updates.

As I’m sure most of you have read, our son was born on Dec 10th, 4 days before the scheduled C-section. I was already planning to take the week of the 13th off, but I ended up leaving work early the Friday before as well. Spent the week getting used to caring for a newborn again. And dealing with the occasional fits of jealousy from Bethany. She has adapted to him surprisingly well. She is always wanting to come over and give him kisses.

The week before Christmas, it was back to work. Ended up being a 3 1/2 day week since we had Christmas Eve off, and Wednesday afternoon was the company Christmas party.

The following week, I was off while my brothers and their families visited. With 11 people in the house, it could get a bit hectic. 8 adults, 1 toddler, and 2 infants. The babies got plenty of holding time, and Bethany had no shortage of people to play with. But she still wanted mommy and daddy. Kids are like that sometimes, aren’t they.

We had a great time with everyone here. Celebrated Christmas (again) on Wednesday morning. Then that evening we celebrated my brother’s 26th birthday. The rest of the week was spent laying around the house relaxing, visiting the mall, and sightseeing. My youngest brother, Adrian, and his wife are flying home today. My middle brother, Doug, and his family are flying out on Friday.

While everyone was here, we took the time to get a few family pictures. Everyone seemed quite amused at what a production it was to get them taken. I guess their use to the line them up against the wall and take their mug shot style. I insisted on spending a little bit more time on it than that.

And that brings us to the present. I’m back at work this week. It’s kind of weird going to work when there are people sleeping in your living room, but that will only last a few more days.

Hope you all have a happy and prosperous new years!
