Turning the Big 1!
Sunday morning, Bethany made it to her first big milestone. She turned 1! We had a birthday party for her on Saturday and invited lots of our friends, but due to prior commitments and some bad weather, only one couple showed up. But we had a good time anyways.
Bethany managed to make out like a bandit with the presents. She got a new Care Bears push/ride toy, a box of Lego Quattro blocks (think Duplo, but bigger), a couple outfits, and Pooh play toy. She really seems to like her new toys.
She wasn’t so sure what to do with the birthday cake though. At first, she was just picking it up and swinging it around, but she did finally give it a lick the see what it tasted like. I guess she decided she didn’t like it though because she then started tearing the cake apart and throwing it on the floor for Bell. Bell enjoyed that!
By the time that she got done destroying the cake, we all had gotten pieces of the big cake and finished those up before pulling her out of her high chair. She was covered in cake, so Karin cleaned her up, and took her diaper off to change it. Bethany thought that was great, and scampered away to go play with her new toys wearing nothing but her shoes. We did eventually get a diaper back on her, but it was funny watching her parade around the house buck naked.
