Chasing Bethany
It’s been a while since the last update, nearly 3 weeks. Life has been busy with the play closing on the 31st, work keeping me busy, and Bethany wanting to spend time with her daddy. All that doesn’t leave a whole lot of time for blog updates.
But, I’ve managed to squeeze in a few minutes during the workday today to post an update on what has been happening. Most of the last 3 weeks has been spent taking Bethany for walks. She’s really getting the hang of walking on two feet. By herself she’s still a little unsteady, but she can move pretty quick when she gets motivated. Such as when she spies one of Bell’s toys and makes a dash for it.
When you hold her hand, though, its a whole different story. She wants to walk in circles though the house. Or take a walk across the yard. Or, as Oma discovered, take a loonnggg walk down to the mailbox.
With the nice weather we’ve had up here lately, we’ve been letting Bethany and Bell play outside after dinner. Bethany’s favorite game is going after Bell’s red ball and then holding it out for her to come take. Although that game took a new twist after the thunderstorm last Friday.
We finally got some rain after many weeks of hot sunny weather. Friday a thunderstorm rolled in right over the house. One crack of thunder, and Bell decided it was time to hide. Karin found her in the bedroom curled up in her bed. She coaxed her downstairs where she proceeded to curl up under Karin’s legs. It didn’t take Bethany long to spy her and come crawling over. But this time, instead of running away, Bell stayed pressed up under Karin’s legs. This gave Bethany the opportunity to give her hugs and kisses and just love all over her. Bethany loved it. Bell we’re not to sure about.
Which brings us back to Bethany’s new favorite game which is to grab Bell’s ball, hold it out for her, and when she comes to take it, pull it up close to her face so maybe she can get some kisses from Bell. It’s so funny to watch her do it, because she laughs whenever Bell tries to get the ball.
With the nice evenings, and the playing kids, I have grabbed the camera and taken a few pictures. (150 pictures is considered a few, right?) Over the next couple days, I hope to weed through them and find a few more to share. Check back for more pictures and updates as soon as I can get to them.
