Moving Day, Take 1

My dad and I signed the lease on the new house today. Karin and I are moving in with them while we clean up and sell our place. Then, we’ll start the hunt for a new home of our own.

With the lease signed, Dad and I started moving stuff into the house. We had packed up Bethany’s room the other night, so we dropped off most of those boxes today.

Tonight we started packing up the kitchen. Dishes, glasses, and bowls are in the dish pack box, surrounded by wash clothes and kitchen towels. They came in very handy. Good thing Karin bought so many. In addition to the dishes, we also packed up most of the food in the pantry. Four boxes worth of boxes and cans. All that remains is the sugar, flour, and baking supplies on the bottom shelf.

There is still a lot of stuff in the kitchen (and the rest of the house). We’re going to be busy on Saturday packing the rental truck. Lots of the clothes and stuff will be going in trash bags for easy transport. And most of the rest of the furniture will be disassembled and put on the truck like that. We’ll move as much stuff as we can. If I have the energy, I’ll post an update on Saturday night or Sunday afternoon.
