Dad’s First Meeting
My dad started work a week ago, and today he hosted his first status meeting. I think he did pretty well. Kept it short and mostly to the point.
For those that didn’t know, my parents are moving out here to Seattle. My dad has been hired as a project manager for Topia Ventures, the same company I work for. It’s a new challenge for him, but I’m sure he’ll do just fine.
Mom is still back in Augusta packing up the house and finishing out her contract with the school system. She’ll be packing the truck next week and driving out here to Seattle with Karin the week after the 4th.
Karin flew home Tuesday to visit with her family for a couple weeks. She and Bethany arrived safely at the Atlanta airport, but ended up waiting on the plane for 90 minutes before they could get to their gate and get off the plane. Consequently, they didn’t arrive at the house until 3AM. Then Bethany was up at 7AM wanting to eat. They got back to bed about 8:30 and didn’t get up till almost noon. Between the late night and jet lag, they’re going to be all messed up for a while.
That’s the news from around here for now. Updates to follow soon.
