The Weekend is Here (Finally)

The weekend has finally arrived. It’s about time. This week has just been hectic. So hectic in fact, that I have no pictures to post today.

Tuesday found me in the office at 8:15 working to get ready for a software delivery on Wednesday. We had pretty much everything worked out by 3PM when we did a run-through of the presentation for Janine.

Wednesday was another early morning, 8:30 to be exact. Had to get in early to make sure everything was setup and ready to go for our 10AM delivery meeting. Turns out the guy we were meeting with sent one of his subordinates to meet us at 10, and he didn’t show up till nearly 11. Such is life when you work for Boeing, I guess. I’m just glad I don’t. Once the delivery was done, it was time to recap the meeting to our PM and figure out what to do next. Turns out it was more editing on one of my design docs. Ah well.

Thursday was an interesting day. Spent the morning reading and editing various documents. Then, about 4PM, the PM called me into a meeting, and we proceeded to rip apart a doc that we were due to send out Friday at 3PM. Didn’t get out of the office till almost 7PM.

Friday was an all-day meeting/document rewrite session. Ended up working through lunch, but not just because I was late. Had a lot of work to get done. I finally left at 6:30, and they were still trying to finalize the document and get it sent out. Which is okay since technically the document just had to be sent out “on Friday”.

Karin and Bethany had a typical week. Bethany wanted to be held most of the time, so Karin couldn’t get anything done. On Thursday, they both came down to visit me for lunch. And Thursday night Karin and I went out while our friend baby-sat Bethany. We managed to get in dinner before the babysitter called to tell us that Bethany was screaming bloody murder. Guess she’s starting to experience separation anxiety. It’s to the point now that I can’t put her to bed. She screams and refuses to lay down or take her bottle unless mom is holding her.

So, with all that was going on this week, I didn’t really have any time for photography. Did manage to get to the mall and spend $250 on a couple new lenses for my camera. Kits Camera had a special on a Sigma lens bundle. It included 28-80mm and 70-300mm lenses. I think they’ll be very useful once I get a chance to get out and shoot some pictures with them. The 28-80 is longer than the lens that came with my camera, so I’ll be able to get in closer on portrait shots and the like. And the 70-300mm will definitely come in handy when I’m trying to shoot from a distance, something I haven’t really bothered with yet.

It doesn’t look like I’ll get outside to play with the camera today, so I may end up doing some shooting in the house. Or maybe I’ll just edit some of the pics I have. Need to do a little editing of my submissions to the Fred Miranda Monthly Assignment.

Anyways, that’s life around here this week. Hopefully I’ll have new pics to post either this weekend or next week.
