Visiting with the Grandparents

August 31st, 2003 | jchaager | family

It’s been a hectic week. Since the last post, Bethany has been back to the hospital to spend the night under the bili-lights to get her jaundice under control. That was not how we wanted to spend Monday evening and Tuesday, but by the time we left, her bilirubin levels were well under control, and she was much less yellow. Tuesday night, Karin’s parents arrived from South Carolina. They were very excited to see their new granddaughter. Since we’re down to only one car, and I had to go to work, Karin, her parents and my mom were stuck at the house most of the day. Her parent’s made the most of their time by holding Bethany, and going for walks around the neighborhood.

Karin’s dad started to get a bit stir-crazy, so he started fixing things around the house. The cold water faucet in the shower no longer leaks and the knobs on the sinks upstairs now work like their supposed to. Thanks Grandpa!!

My mom left Saturday afternoon. Karin, Bethany and I drove her to the airport and said goodbye to her before she left. It was fun having you here. Look forward to seeing you again when you come back with Grandpa for Thanksgiving.

We all got up early on Sunday Morning to take Karin’s parents to the airport. Got there about 4AM, got them checked in, then took the time for a few pics, and some good-bye hugs before they headed through security, and we headed back home.

We can now finally start settling into our new normal lives. We’ll see how things go. Hopefully, they’ll be more frequent updates now that things have settled down again.
