A Brief Interlude
Well, it’s been a busy couple of weeks, and this is the first chance I’ve had to sit down and update the weblog. It’s been a busy two weeks with doctor’s appointments, nursery setup, and dealing with the car insurance company. Things are going good with the baby. According to the ultrasound on Thursday, the baby is about 8 lbs 2 oz. Of course, the margin of error on that is like ?18 oz, so that means she could be anywhere from 7 lbs to 9 1/2 lbs. Add another week of growth, and she’s gonna be a big baby when she finally arrives.
We’ve mostly gotten the nursery together. We finally got rid of the computer desk yesterday afternoon. Took it apart and gave it to our new neighbor. She thanked us for it. Said it saved her having to go out shopping for one.
With the desk gone, Karin started “cleaning up” the nursery. Although, right now it looks like a disaster area. Hopefully we’ll get it together before our trip to the Maternity Ward.
As if preparing for the imminent arrival of our first child wasn’t stressful enough, my wife’s car was hit the other day on her way home. Car was coming out of a driveway across traffic to make a left and met up with her in the center left turn lane. The front passenger side of Karin’s PT Cruiser is smashed.
It’s in the shop now and will need a new bumper, new front passenger fender, new headlight, and other assorted plastic parts that go underneath that area. I have pics of the damage which I’ll probably post in the next couple days.
Karin was very shook up about the whole thing when I got to her Thursday night. But after a good night’s sleep, she was in much better spirits about the whole thing. She’s still upset that her car was damaged, but she’s doing okay. And so is the baby.
Hopefully I’ll get back to updating the weblog more frequently, but don’t hold your breath. It’s another busy week this week with appointments and the induction. If I don’t update before then, I will definitely post to announce the baby’s birth.
