Video Chat for the Masses
You watched Steve Jobs demonstrate the cool features of iChatAV and wished you could do it to. You ran out and downloaded a copy of the iChatAV Beta. But there was no Video Chat love for you. Either you didn’t have a Firewire camera. Or your computer was too slow. But now there’s a solution.
The folks at Ecamm Network have written an Application Enhancer Haxie called iChatUSBCam which enables iChat to use USB web cams in addition to the Firewire cameras. And, in its latest version, it enables video chat on lower end G3s like my 500MHz iBook.
So, if you have an old USB Web cam lying around, grab it, visit Ecamm’s page, and get rolling.
