Making Firewalls Illegal
Freedom to Tinker has several posts relating to a series of bills introduced in State Legislatures. These bills would make it illegal to use NAT devices, encrypt your e-mail, or share your internet connection without the permission of your service provider.
Bills have been introduced in GA, FL, TN, SC, AK, CO, MA, and TX. All have very similar wording, which indicates they are most likely coming from a lobbying group. And everyones favorite anti-freedom group, the MPAA, has come out in support of these bills.
If you live in one of the affected states, call your representative now to preserve your rights.
